“So, OTT sounds complicated it stands for over the top but it’s really pretty simple. It used to be that for a while you’d watch maybe the CBS app or you would watch Netflix or Hulu on your iPod. This giant box in your living room that was going unused and so they implemented all the technology for you to be able to watch all those same things on your TV and they’ve also obviously they brought up things like smart TV.
So the biggest difference is that that inventory is sold separately so differently. So if you want to be able to be on Hulu for a brand and you’re either an agency or you’re you know a brand manager you have to buy that separately. In many cases you got to work with them directly. But in most cases it makes more sense to be able to use somebody that has access to that inventory across all of the platforms. And that’s something that YouConnex has. Because DSP or demand side platforms in many cases allow for OTT inventory to roll through there. That’s something where you can work with agencies across theU.S. and internationally to be able to help you run your inventory or your advertising across all of those kinds of channels.”
